Most Insider Trade Secrets Theft Involves Network Access

A study by the Insider Threat Lab of the CERT Program at Carnegie-Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute discovered that 58% of all intellectual property theft by corporation insiders involves use of the company’s network.

Thirty per cent of such cases involve use of email at work and another 28% take place over remote network access.
